...where aspiring young artists come to perform
Canadian Contemporary Dance Theatre is a repertoire company created to provide dancers under 19 years of age with a professional performance alternative to prevailing competition, examination and recital options. Founded in 1980 by Deborah Lundmark and Michael deConinck Smith, CCDT strives to nurture the highest calibre of versatile dance artists through advanced-level training in Limón Modern and RAD Ballet techniques combined with extensive performance and touring opportunities of a varied modern and contemporary repertoire.
In light of the ongoing pandemic, the remainder of CCDT's 2019/2020 Season has been cancelled. All performances scheduled from March through July 2020 have been cancelled or postponed until further notice, for the safety of our artists, staff, and the greater community.
Additionally, the 509 Dance building will remain closed until further notice. We are monitoring developments in order to make plans to reopen. CCDT's office staff and directors can be reached by email during this time.
